Luigi De Donato (Bass) · Solo album “Polifemo, the baroque monster”

This month sees the release of Luigi De Donato’s highly anticipated solo album “Polifemo, the Baroque Monster” he recorded with the complicity of Václav Luks and Collegium 1704.
It features famous works by Handel, Porpora and Bononcini as well as wonderful rarities by Cesti, Alberti and Schürer taking us on a musical journey across Europe through more than 100 years… Its “fil rouge” is of course Italy, whether for the nationality of the composers or the language of the libretto.
Luigi here shares the fruits of his research he did in some Italian libraries on various compositions with the Polyphemus theme – the discoveries he made are remarkable!
