Stefano Poda opened the 100th edition of the legendary Arena di Verona Opera Festival with his much-awaited new production of Verdi’s Aida. In his search for aesthetic and conceptual unity, Poda would combine sets, costumes, lighting and choreography to create a single, all-embracing experience, hence a total work of art.
Undisputed symbol of the Opera Festival since 1913, Verdi’s masterpiece on the Ethiopian slave princess in Egypt will be performed on 14 dates, between 16 June and 8 September.
