Arnaud Gluck trained with countertenors Carlos Mena and Flavio Ferri-Benedetti as well as with baritone Ulrich Messthaler at the Schola Cantorum in Basel, graduating with a master’s degree in 2024.
A series of important operatic debuts followed: Pastore in Monteverdi’s Orfeo under Jordi Savall and Spirit in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas under Stefan Plewniak, both at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, Unulfo in Handel’s Rodelinda in Basel and Winterthur with Opernverein Ahimè, and Paggio in Antonia Bembo’s Ercole amante alongside Il Gusto Barocco in Stuttgart and Herne. Arnaud interpreted Cupid in John Blow’s Venus and Adonis for the Nuits Musicales d’Uzès and took on the roles of Davide and Nathan in Davide e Bersabea by Porpora for the Basel “Erasmus klingt!” Festival.
He also created the role of Pietro in the world premiere of La Passione di Gesù Cristo by Flavio Ferri-Benedetti in Basel and performed the alto solo in Handel’s Messiah at the Auditorio Príncipe Felipe de Oviedo.
In 2026/2027, Arnaud will make his eagerly anticipated debut at both the Theater an der Wien and Staatsoper Berlin as Endimione in a new Christina Pluhar/Stefan Herheim production of Cavalli’s La Calisto.
In the 2025/2026 season, he made his debut with Marc Minkowski in a programme dedicated to sacred baroque music at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, and shared the stage with the Freiburger Barockorchester for Bach’s B Minor Mass at the Saint-Michel en Thiérache Festival. He also sang his first Ruggiero in Fabio Ceresa’s staging of Vivaldi’s Orlando furioso in Oviedo and appeared as Pisandro in a new Davide Livermore production of Monteverdi’s Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in patria conducted by Michele Pasotti at the Festival Monteverdi di Cremona.
Arnaud Gluck has been a winner at several international competitions, including both the Second Prize and the “Gemelli Factory” Prize at the Froville International Baroque Singing Competition (2024), the First Prize at the Biagio Marini International Early Music Competition in Neuburg, Germany (2024) and the First Prize at the “Jeunes Talents” Competition in Paris with the Ensemble Saint-Honoré which he co-founded (2022).
He has created a recital programme entitled “Amore langueo” filled with gems from the 17th Century Italy and which he has taken on tour to several festivals and venues in France, including the Salle Cortot in Paris and the Festival de Froville with the complicity of Alice Letort (theorbo & baroque guitar) and Manon Papasergio (viola da gamba & harp).
Among Arnaud’s future highlights are Vivaldi’s Juditha triumphans (Ozias) with Aapo Häkkinen and the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra at the Theater an der Wien, as well as Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo (Pastore) with the French baroque ensemble Les Ombres at the Opéra de Montpellier.
