We are delighted to announce the release of Josè Maria Lo Monaco’s long-awaited debut solo album for which she joins forces with Massimo Mazzeo and Divino Sospiro, one of the leading Portuguese period-instrument orchestras.
Entitled “All’amore immenso” and dedicated to sacred music, the CD contains outstanding works, including world premieres, of great Masters such as Alessandro & Domenico Scarlatti, Bononcini, Caldara, Porpora and Leo who all celebrate here the concept of overwhelming, earthly and heavenly Love, a love which finds its fullest and most universal expression in the figures of the Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene.
In this recording, Josè Maria Lo Monaco and Massimo Mazzeo present a musical anthology with distinctive features on this very intense theme – it ranges from sparkling virtuosity through languorous singing to melancholic and poignant melodies, immersing us into a world where the earthly and spiritual dimensions join to give free rein to the limitless dramatic and expressive possibilities of Italian Baroque Music.
